Zumrad and Qimmat is a personal illustration project based on the beloved Uzbek fairytale that shaped much of my childhood. I grew up watching the film and reading the book, and the story holds a deep emotional place in my heart.

In this project, I focused on celebrating traditional Uzbek clothing, textures, and cultural details with greater realism and visual richness. My goal was to reimagine the story in a way that feels more immersive and beautiful for today’s children, while honoring its roots. I hope to continue illustrating projects that allow me to explore and elevate stories from my own culture.
